The Malaga-Colockum Community Council was established with a two-fold purpose: to be able to present a community-wide consensus of opinion to County officials regarding planning and development and to have an organization in place to sponsor action regarding in-community needs.
The Malaga Community Park is a long term project of the Malaga-Colockum Community Council, currently being constructed on four acres along the Malaga Alcoa Highway, north of the Malaga Market. The park has had the support of Chelan County, Alcoa, Stemilt Growers, the local soccer community and many Malaga residents. The initial construction has been under a 50% matching RCO grant from the State of Washington. Now that most of the rocks have been cleared, we are ready to proceed this spring with the irrigation system, fencing and landscaping. The final plans include a soccer field, playground and picnic areas - but we will need more volunteers and donations! Watch for progress as you drive by and leave a message in our contact section if you want information or to help build our park.
You can mail your contribution to PO Box 292 Malaga 98828, or donation via PayPal with the button below. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit for tax deductible donations.
